Kollam
The gateway to the backwaters and the cashew capital of the world
About Kollam
Kollam (formerly Quilon) is one of the oldest ports in the Arabian Sea and was a famous international trade center. It is located on the banks of the Ashtamudi Lake, which is the most visited backwater stretch in Kerala after Alleppey. The city is famous for its cashew processing industry and marine products. Kollam offers a more relaxed and less crowded backwater experience compared to its northern neighbors.
